Type: portfolioIn-Grid's In-frastructures
These inquiries offer up how critical access can be brought into collaborations within non-disabled centered communities, not as extra time, but as a way to Wiggle Room within infrastructuring practices for interdependent sense making and collective action. These inquiries take on the form of focus groups, accessible docs and a set of workshops called Practising Protocols that ran both In-ternally with In-grid members as well as publicly at 4S/EASST.
These inquiries aim to share how critical access practices and methods make room for a collective like In-grid to question our organizational and network infrastructures by both coming into contact with them, but also by shaping them from our backgrounds and expertise. In this inquiry, especially bring focus to how critical access practices made room for our misfitting within normalizing configurations to unfold into counter expertise and knowledges. With this approach making-sense of the assimilationist norms and politics of network and organizational configuration in a way that where we could refuse, improvise and deviate from the norms we felt friction with.
This entry shares a collective focus group with In-grid members to reflect on their organizational practices and approaches. In this session, questioning how misfit within and made friction around the social and institutional inflexibilities our collective were impacted by when trying to organize together.
This entry reflects on a collective inquiry with In-grid members around how we practice and imagine our technical Docs and network infrastructures when informed by critical access making. In these collective practices questioning how prescribed technical configurations and their isolated expertise can be disputed, improvised and refused when made accessible to other backgrounds, capacities and knowledges.
This entry shares a combined panel and workshop organized by In-grid members for 4S/EASST 2024. With this panel element bringing together community practitioners to share their practices of collective infrastructuring. Alongside this we ran the Practicing Protocols workshop which made room for participants to make-sense of and counter the configurations they encountered, misfit within and found friction with during a practical session.
This entry shares a collective workshop where In-grid members came together to run the Practicing Protocols workshop in-ternally. For this iteration we set up our first collective server as well as our first server manifesto called the Femfester. In this workshop, accessibly making-sense of our collective misfitting within the inherited configurations of network infrastructures as a way to manifest them otherwise.
